Tes-TEA

Tea originated in southwest china during the shang dynasty, where it was used as a medical Drink.An early credible record of tea drinking dates to the 3rd century AD, in a medical text written by Hua Tao It was popularized as a recreational drink during the Chinese Tank Dynasty and tea drinking spread to other East Asian countries. Portuguese Priests and merchants introduced it to Europe during the 16th century. During the 17th century, drinking tea became fashionable among Britons who started large-scale production and commercialization of the plant in India. Combined, China and India supplied 64% of the world's tea in 2016.


Today, India is one of the largest tea producers in the world, with over 70% of the tea being consumed within India itself. A number of renowned teas, such as Assam and Darjeeling also grow exclusively in India. The Indian tea industry has grown to own many global tea brands, and has evolved to one of the most technologically equipped tea industries in the world. Tea production, certification, exportation, and all other facets of the tea trade in India is controlled by the Tea Board Of India.




As per the Tea Board under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India, the tea varieties found in India are Darjeeling, Assam, Nilgiri, Kangra, Munnar, Dooars-Terai, Masala Tea and Sikkim tea. Most of the teas have been named after the regions they are produced in and they are also statutorily protected as Geographical Indicators.

Masala Chai


Masala Chai is the most popular beverage made by mixture of herbs, spices, cinnamon and cloves. Mamri tea plants from Assam region’s are used to make Masala Chai with different proportions of spices.

Noon Chai


Noon Chai or Kashmiri tea is the Variation of traditional tea usually cooked in a samavar. The pink tea is traditional tea beverage from Kashmir and also served in many parts Rajasthan and Nepal.

Green Tea


Green Tea have been used in Indian medicine for a variety of uses with list of health benefits. Health benefits of green tea includes Weight loss, Toxicity and Glycemic control

Black Tea


Black Tea are stronger in flavour and produced by all four tea production regions of India. Large leaved Assamese plants are mainly used for black tea.

Butter Tea

Butter Tea is made by yak butter, tea leaves and salt by Himalayan people of India, Nepal and Bhutan. This is known as Po cha in Tibet and known for its unexpected salty flavor rather than sweet.
